FAQs
How do I paint a body shell?
Besides a well ventilated area and a few hours spare, you'll need:
- Polycarbonate paint
- Hobby scissors
- Masking tape (if you're doing more than one colour)
- A few hours
- A well ventilated area
Do I need paint?
If it comes unpainted or partially, yes. Well, that's if you don't want to drive around with a see-through body shell.
Most body shells come unpainted (clear), some come pre-painted and some even come partially painted (like the Traxxas ProGraphix range).
The body shell should have either painted or unpainted in it's name. Note: don't rely on the image as some manufactures paint the body just for the image, as it's easier to see.
Do I need to cut it out?
If the shell is painted, it should already be cut out ready to install. However, if it's unpainted, it's likely that you'll need to cut out the wheel arches and around the bumpers etc - a pair of hobby scissors works well for this.
