Overview

The Mazda 787 and its sibling, the 787B, stand as Group C sports prototype racing cars developed by the Japanese automaker Mazda. They were intended for competition in the World Sportscar Championship, All Japan Sports Prototype Championship, and the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans during the period spanning 1990 to 1991. While the 787 and 787B may not have possessed the raw speed of their World Championship rivals, such as Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar and Porsche or even their Japanese Championship counterparts Nissan and Toyota, they made up for it with remarkable reliability, enabling them to vie for championship titles. This reliability paid dividends in 1991 when a 787B piloted by Johnny Herbert, Volker Weidler, and Bertrand Gachot triumphed at the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans. It marked the inaugural win by a Japanese manufacturer and remained the only such achievement until Toyota's victory at the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans. In total, two 787s were constructed in 1990, followed by the production of three upgraded 787Bs in 1991.

Kyosho have designed this shell to fit directly onto their fantastic MR-03 Chassis.
