FAQs for FPV Drones

At minimum: an FPV quad, a radio transmitter, goggles, batteries and a charger. A bind-and-fly (BNF) kit plus separate goggles is the most common way in. Budget about $400-600 for a decent beginner setup.

If you want to fly ASAP, go BNF or RTF. If you enjoy building and want to learn how everything works, go kit. Building your own makes repairs way easier because you already know how it goes together.

The basics take a few flights to click. Most people start with a simulator on their PC before flying the real thing — saves a lot of crashes. Freestyle and racing take months to get good at, but that's what makes it rewarding.
