Pay before 1:00pm Melbourne time on a dispatch day and your order ships the same day.
This is dispatch time, not delivery time — couriers still take their usual transit days.

Refunds by law: In Australia, consumers have a legal right to obtain a refund from a business for goods purchased if the goods are faulty, not fit for purpose or don't match the description.

We love the products we stock and want you to feel the same way about your purchase. You may return your product for a full refund or exchange, provided that the product:

  • Is returned within 60 days from the delivery date; and
  • Is unused and in its original condition; and
  • Is returned with all original packaging and proof of purchase from Hobbies Direct.
  • If the product came with a gift, that gift must be returned with the acquisition, or the value of the gift will be deducted from your refund/exchange voucher.
  • Sorry, gift vouchers are non-refundable.

Once returned, we will only process a refund for the returned products and not refund extra costs like delivery.

Change of mind

We welcome change-of-mind returns provided the product meets the conditions listed above under Returns.

Free returns

We are pleased to offer free returns on change-of-mind and incorrectly-supplied orders that meet the above conditions. Simply contact our customer service team , and we will provide a prepaid return shipping label for you to send the item back. Faulty goods and warranty claims are handled separately. See the Faulty goods section below and the warranty section of our terms.

Delivery errors

If we have sent you an incorrect item, we pay the return freight and cover redelivery of the correct item. If an item is faulty and the photos you send show a defective item that we cannot resell or use, we may not even request its return. If you accidentally ordered an incorrect size or have damaged an item, it is your cost to return the item and pay redelivery of the correct item and any difference between the expense of the two products.

Faulty goods

We may need the defective item back for assessment, exchange or re-work — if this is the case we will require the affected items returned to us before releasing replacement items to you. We cover return shipping on faulty goods: we'll email you a free prepaid return label so you can drop the item at your local Post Office, and we also pay to send the repaired or replacement item back to you. Where we can, we'll endeavour to resolve issues without needing the item back at all — good quality digital photos or a short video often let us assess the fault remotely. The product must be returned in suitable secure packaging to prevent any damage in transit (intact original packaging is ideal). All defective or missing parts deemed to fit within the warranty will be replaced free of charge, excluding any third-party labour costs.
