What hex driver sizes do I need?
For 1/10 scale cars, 1.5mm, 2mm and 2.5mm hex drivers cover 90% of the bolts. A 5.5mm and 7mm nut driver handles wheel nuts and most other hardware. For 1/8 scale, add 3mm hex. Buy quality drivers — cheap ones strip out fast.
Do I need a soldering iron?
Not to start. Most RTR cars are plug-and-play. You'll want one eventually though — for swapping connectors, adding LEDs or wiring upgrades. A basic 40-60W adjustable iron with a fine tip covers everything you'd do in RC.
