FAQs for RC ESCs
An ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) sits between your battery and motor. It takes the throttle signal from your receiver and controls how much power goes to the motor — forward, reverse and braking. Think of it as the accelerator for your RC car.
Match it to your motor type (brushed or brushless) and battery voltage. The ESC must handle the current your motor draws. Also check it supports your battery cell count (2S, 3S etc). Waterproof ESCs are worth it for outdoor driving.
The amp rating is how much current the ESC can deliver continuously. A 60A ESC handles a motor drawing up to 60 amps. If your motor pulls more, the ESC will overheat and shut down. Always match or exceed your motor's needs.
