1. What does RTF mean?
(RTF) Simply means ‘Ready To Fly’ e.g. the RC plane comes with a transmitter (Choose this if a beginner).
2. What is BNF or PNP?
(BNF or PNP) Means ‘bind and fly’ or ‘plug and play’ which means no transmitter included.
3. What is a MODE 1 or MODE 2 transmitter and which one do I choose?
MODE 1 or 2 simply describes what RC plane functions the RC controller sticks control. There is no wrong choice, it depends on your preference (More detail next slide)
- If you choose a Mode 1 transmitter
- The right stick on your RC controller will control throttle (speed) and aileron (on the wings, used for banking the plane). The left stick will control rear tail rudder and the elevator. Mode 1 transmitters may lower the risk of error as the primary controls are seperated.
- If you choose a Mode 2 transmitter
- The right stick will control the ailerons on the wings and the elevator, whilst the left stick will control the throttle (speed) and rear tail rudder
