Description

The DUKW was a special amphibious version of the reliable GMC CCKW 2½ ton 6x6 truck, designed to transfer loads quickly from ships directly to the beach during WWII landings. Characterized by its boat-like welded hull, the DUKW retained the truck's robust engine and six-wheel drive system, giving it extraordinary versatility. It played a vital role in Allied amphibious operations, including the landings at Salerno, Anzio, and Normandy on D-Day.

This 1/35 scale kit from Italeri is a special "D-DAY Eighty Years" edition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings. The model accurately captures the unique form of the DUKW and features new, high-quality decals for four different versions, along with colour instructions to aid painting and finishing.
