The Austin K2/Y was a sturdy and reliable 2-ton 4x2 ambulance that served British and Commonwealth forces throughout World War II. Based on a civilian truck chassis, it was produced in large numbers and saw service in every theatre of the war, from France and North Africa to the final push into Germany, becoming an iconic and welcome sight for wounded soldiers.
