Dragon Models Scale Kits

Dragon Models kits are aimed at intermediate and experienced scale modellers with a focus on WWII subjects — armour, soft-skin vehicles, figures and artillery. The brand is known for detailed part counts, photo-etch inclusions and multi-version kits that let you build several variants from one box. Australian WWII modellers often reach for Dragon when they want a subject with more engineering depth than the classic Tamiya offerings, particularly for German armour and figure-heavy diorama projects.

Dragon earned its reputation with dense, highly-detailed 1/35 kits that often include photo-etch, individual-link tracks and detailed interior options. Their figure range is also well-regarded, with sharp sculpting and poses that work well in diorama settings. The catalogue leans heavily German but covers Allied, Russian and Pacific subjects too. For Australian modellers building a serious WWII armour collection, Dragon kits tend to occupy the upper-middle ground between basic Tamiya and high-end short-run boutique releases.

Dragon Models stock is currently zero and availability varies — please contact us for availability on specific kits. Dragon releases are often tooled in limited runs and older subjects go out of print, so if you're chasing a particular kit it's worth asking early while it can still be sourced. We can check distributor stock and advise on lead times for Australian delivery. For in-stock WWII alternatives, our wider scale kit range covers Tamiya, Takom and other manufacturers.

Dragon's German armour kits — Panthers, Tigers, Panzer IV variants and StuG assault guns — are historically the strongest sellers with Australian modellers, alongside their figure sets and half-track kits. Current stock is zero so availability varies; let us know the kit number or subject you're after and we'll check what's available to order. With Dragon's back catalogue being deep and older tools sometimes preferable to newer releases, having a specific box number speeds up the availability check considerably.
