The K311 is a versatile 4x4 cargo truck in the 1¼ ton class, developed for use by the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and introduced in 1980. It's commonly referred to as the 4-5 (5?4) ton or "military Dodge" due to its resemblance to the Dodge M37, which it replaced. This modernised vehicle is actually based on the American Kaiser Jeep M715 truck. Production of the K311 was handled by Asia Motors until Hyundai's merger with Kia Motors in 1999. The export name KM450, designated by Kia Motors, is widely recognised beyond South Korea, encompassing both older and newer variations of the vehicle.
