Overview

The Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) is the backbone of the U.S. Army's heavy tactical vehicle fleet. First entering service in 1982 to replace older vehicles, this eight-wheel drive, diesel-powered truck is designed to operate in any environment. The M977 is the cargo variant of the HEMTT family and is equipped with a material handling crane to allow for self-loading and unloading of its payload.
