The Land Rover is one of the most famous symbols of British automobile production and a milestone in the history of off-road vehicles. Born immediately after the war, with the first prototypes realised in 1947, it is characterised by a 4x4 traction system and a robust and reliable design able to tackle the most difficult trails. The aluminium body provides lightness while offering resistance against corrosion. By 1971, when the Series III was introduced, more than 1,000,000 Land Rovers had been produced, available in standard and long wheelbase versions. Thanks to its extraordinary versatility, the Land Rover was used in both military and civilian duties.
