Introduced to the market in 1988, the Volvo F16 achieved considerable commercial success largely due to its innovative powertrain line, which achieved a high level of driving performance, low fuel consumption and low running and maintenance costs. The exceptional features of its 6-cylinder engine were complemented by the innovative Globetrotter cab, which provided exceptional onboard comfort. One configuration particularly appreciated by long and medium-range logistics operators was the canvas rear deck. This was characterised by good size/space ratios and further enhanced by the rear hydraulic platform, which facilitated easy loading and unloading of goods.
