Overview

The German Type IX C/40 was a formidable ocean-going submarine of the Second World War, designed for long-range patrols deep into the Atlantic. This Revell model kit focuses on the historic U-190, a late-war variant featuring a snorkel that allowed it to operate its diesel engines while submerged. The U-190 had a unique service history; after serving with the Kriegsmarine's 33rd U-boat Flotilla, it surrendered at the end of the war and was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy. This 2024 edition kit, featuring all-new parts, allows you to build a detailed replica of this very submarine, with authentic marking options to depict it in either its original German service or its post-war Canadian configuration.
