This formidable machine later evolved into the Porsche 962C, which was subsequently supplied to numerous private teams alongside the factory works teams. The 962C achieved unparalleled success, securing countless victories and solidifying its reputation as one of the strongest endurance racing machines ever known.

Among these formidable machines was the 962C campaigned by Brun Motorsport from Switzerland, which competed prominently in the 1987 season. Dressed in its instantly recognisable and vibrant orange Jägermeister colour scheme, this car was a significant contender in both the World Sports Prototype Championship (WSPC) and the German Racing Car Championship (DRM). From 1987 onwards, Brun Motorsport primarily entered three 962Cs into competition, notably beating the Porsche works team to secure second place in the WSPC championship. As one of the leading privateer teams, Brun Motorsport played a crucial role, contributing significantly to Porsche's enduring dominance in endurance racing well into the mid-1990s.
