The Type 051C, with lead ship Shenyang (115), is a modern air-defence guided-missile destroyer of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy. Its most prominent feature is the powerful Russian-made Rif vertical launch system, giving it a significant long-range anti-aircraft capability. This is complemented by a potent suite of YJ-83 anti-ship missiles and Type 730 close-in weapon systems.
This huge 1/200 scale kit from Trumpeter is a highly detailed replica of this formidable warship. With over 600 parts, it is a rewarding and complex project featuring a slide-moulded hull, a metal anchor chain, and three extensive photo-etched frets for handrails, ladders, and radar parts.
