The Grumman F8F Bearcat was the company's final piston-engine carrier fighter, representing the peak of this technology. Designed during WWII, the concept was to fit the powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engine into the smallest, most lightweight airframe possible. The result was an aircraft with an extraordinary rate of climb and superb agility that, while too late for WWII, served with distinction in the post-war era.

This large 1/32 scale kit from Trumpeter is a detailed replica of this potent naval fighter. With over 360 parts, it features a photo-etched detail fret, a realistic film instrument panel, and rubber tyres. A unique highlight is the inclusion of a clear engine cowling, allowing the builder to showcase the highly detailed R-2800 engine.
