The German FlaK 41 Flack Cannon was manufactured with a 50mm anti-aircraft cannon with a longer range than 33mm variants but below the heavier, 75+ mm cannons ceiling. The FlaK 41 started as a concept in 1936 but was awarded to Rheinmetall-Borsig in 1940. The cannon was produced in 2 versions to defend important industrial installations. Both variants were designated as failures and shared the same faults. The FlaK 41's cannon's speed was too slow for fast-moving targets, and the firepower was proved to be underwhelming, even with firing blast being able to dazzle the aimer in broad daylight. A total of 60 FlaK 41's were produced starting from 1941 and in service until 1945.
