Overview

The BTR-60 was the first in a long and successful family of Soviet eight-wheeled amphibious armoured personnel carriers. Introduced in the early 1960s, the BTR-60PB variant was a major improvement over its predecessors, featuring a fully enclosed armoured roof and a conical machine gun turret. This configuration became an iconic and ubiquitous symbol of Soviet and Warsaw Pact mechanised infantry forces for decades.
