The Mikoyan MiG-27, known by its NATO reporting name "Flogger-D", is a formidable ground-attack aircraft developed from the MiG-23 fighter. To optimise it for low-level strike missions, the design was modified with fixed air inlets and a simplified engine nozzle, while the afterburner power was increased.
