Demonstrating the timeless wisdom that "If it looks right, then it is right," the Hawker Hunter embodied the essence of aviation beauty — sleek, refined, yet inherently a formidable combat aircraft. Highlighting the Hunter's versatility, the development of the FGA.9 variant was driven by an RAF need to replace ground attack Venoms stationed in the Middle East. Essentially, it involved optimising an F.6 airframe for close air support missions. Reinforcing the Hunter's wings expanded its capacity to carry an impressive arsenal of offensive weaponry. The FGA.9, in this configuration, delivered one of the RAF's most proficient ground attack fighters. A total of 128 Hunter FGA.9s were deployed across both home-based and overseas squadrons.
