The English Electric Lightning was a legendary Cold War interceptor, renowned for its phenomenal performance. The F.2A variant, introduced in 1968, was a modified version featuring a distinctive square-cut fin, kinked wing leading edges, and an enlarged ventral fuel tank, which significantly enhanced its patrol time. This 1/72 scale kit from Airfix is a detailed replica of this iconic British jet. The model accurately captures the unique features of the F.2A and includes two different marking options for aircraft that served with the Royal Air Force in Germany during the 1970s.
