The Sd.Kfz 10 Demag D7 half-track tractor played a significant role in the German military during World War II, featuring prominently on multiple fronts, from Poland to North Africa and even Russia. Its primary purpose was to serve as an efficient prime mover for towing small artillery pieces like anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns. Capable of accommodating eight fully equipped soldiers and towing a gun or trailer, the Demag D7 was powered by a robust 4.2-litre Maybach 6-cylinder engine, situated at the front, delivering 99 hp. This engine allowed the half-track to achieve a maximum speed of 65 km/h and exhibit commendable performance both on and off-road. Renowned for its reliability and adaptability, the Demag D7 was manufactured in significant numbers and various configurations.

The light howitzer Le. IG 18 was specifically designed to provide artillery support within infantry units. Known for its reliability and precision, it was often towed by Demag or Protze tractors. However, as the war progressed, it was gradually replaced by more potent and lightweight mortar systems.
