A faithful recreation of the 2012 DENSO KOBELCO SC430. Originally a luxury open-top car, the real-world machine was completely redesigned and tuned to compete as a full-fledged Super GT racer. The high-quality finish captures every racing detail, providing a brilliant scale look that stands out on any Mini-Z circuit or enthusiast's display shelf.

While retaining the best aspects of the previous generation, the MR-04 delivers significant performance gains through a lower centre of gravity. This redesign makes the car easier to control, providing a more stable platform for both competitive racers and beginners. The improved balance ensures smoother weight transfer and more predictable handling during technical indoor racing sessions.

The included Syncro KT-531P transmitter features a realistic steering wheel design and a pistol-grip throttle. You can easily adjust the neutral positions, steering angle, and dual rates using the integrated trims. To help beginners build skills safely, the default training mode reduces the vehicle speed, making it easier to learn the ropes of RWD racing.

New front hubs with integrated kingpins reduce scrub by 1.5mm (0.06") on each side compared to the MR-03. This engineering update results in sharper, more linear steering control. The transition to 3mm (0.12") inner diameter ball bearings also reduces rotational resistance, providing the front-end precision required to navigate tight hairpins and technical corners with authority.

Powered by four AAA batteries, the MR-04 mounts its power source lower than the MR-03 to drop the centre of gravity further. Whether using alkaline or NiMH cells, the weight is positioned to maximise traction and minimise chassis roll. This design choice delivers improved cornering stability and straight-line handling, making the SC430 feel planted during high-speed runs.

The front suspension is designed to dynamically align the camber angle with the movement of the upper arm. This ensures the tyres maintain optimal contact patches with the track surface during heavy cornering. Combined with improved steering response from the revised caster, this system provides the mechanical grip needed to handle the torque of the RWD motor.

The rear suspension uses a flexible T-bar plate to hold the motor pod and rear axle, providing a natural suspension effect. This is paired with a coil spring damper to cushion shocks from the road surface and improve overall driving stability. This setup ensures the rear remains settled and can be further tuned with optional oil-filled shocks or carbon fibre plates.

Every axle is equipped with low rotational resistance ball bearings as standard. By using the same size bearings for both the front and rear, Kyosho has improved spare parts efficiency while ensuring a smooth, friction-free drivetrain. These high-quality bearings allow the RWD system to spin freely, maximising the efficiency of your AAA batteries and motor.

This kit includes a parts set that allows you to change the front tread width to match different body styles. While set up for the SC430, this adjustment ensures the chassis can be adapted if you choose to install a non-standard body later. Rear tread can also be tuned by changing the wheel offset, providing a customisable fit for your entire Mini-Z collection.
