The legendary Spitfire was the representative British fighter of WWII. Many variants were built, and among these was the Mk.VIII, a variant developed to be the successor to the RAF's previous mainstay Spitfire, the Mk.V. The Mk.VIII was fitted with a Rolls-Royce Merlin 60-series engine, and various improvements were made to each part of the aircraft with an eye to the future.

This 1/32 scale plastic assembly kit of the Spitfire Mk.VIII features realistic details such as retractable tail wheels, shortened ailerons, and wing fuel tanks. You can choose to model it with landing gear either retracted or deployed, and select from parts for standard or extended wingtips. The model has moveable ailerons, rudder, and elevators, and the flaps can be positioned up or down. Parts are included for 30- and 90-gallon fuel tanks. It also comes with three kinds of markings to depict the aircraft from USAAF, RAAF, and RCAF units, and two pilot figures in seated and standing poses.
