The German Tiger I heavy tank was one of the most formidable and feared weapons of the Second World War, said to be comparable to five Sherman tanks. Protected by up to 100mm of heavy armour and armed with a powerful 88mm gun, it could destroy Allied tanks from extreme range. The late production version, built from 1944, featured various improvements such as steel road wheels and a revised commander's cupola with a periscope.

This 1/48 scale Tamiya kit realistically models the solid, imposing appearance of the late production Tiger I.
