Overview

Making its battlefield debut in 1944, the German King Tiger heavy tank immediately struck fear into the hearts of Allied soldiers. Armed with a devastating 88mm L71 high-velocity gun and protected by up to 185mm of frontal armour, it could destroy enemy tanks from long range while being nearly impervious to their return fire. The mass-production version featured the distinctive and well-sloped Henschel-designed turret.

This 1/48 scale Tamiya kit is a high-quality display model of the production turret King Tiger. A standout feature is the die-cast chassis, which provides added weight and a realistic, solid feel to the finished model. The assembly-type tracks feature one-piece straight sections with a pre-moulded sag effect for ultimate realism with easy construction. Separately moulded crew hatches can be modelled open or closed for extra display options.
