This all-new 1/48 scale model aircraft series kit recreates the Phantom II, depicting the F-4B variant. The Phantom II first entered service in 1961 and offered excellent adaptability to a range of purposes. F-4Bs were the first Phantom II aircraft to see active service; powered by twin jet engines, they could carry significant ordnance and were used by the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps through the Vietnam War and into the 1970s and 1980s before being phased out in favour of later designs, leaving U.S. service in 1996.
Extensive research enabled this highly accurate kit recreation of the F-4B. The kit can be assembled with wingtips folded or extended. Choose between open and closed canopy, and extended or retracted boarding ladder and refuelling probe. Comes with figures depicting a seated pilot and Radar Intercept Officer (RIO), plus ejector seats. Four each of AIM-7E Sparrow and AIM-9G/H Sidewinder air-to-air missiles are included, along with one centre drop tank (600-gallon) and two outer wing drop tanks (370-gallon). Comes with three marking options recreating Vietnam War-era aircraft, a comprehensive decal sheet and masking stickers for the canopy.

The canopy cross section is realistically captured by the use of slide molded parts, and complex air intake areas are impressively recreated.

The engine nozzles are spread into 6 pieces for a highly realistic end result.
