This R/C model assembly kit recreates the 4th generation ND model of the Mazda MX-5 (also known as the Roadster in Japan). The dynamic and lightweight 2-seater thrilled sports car fans around the world upon its release in 2015. The MX-5 body is captured in 1/10 scale lightweight polycarbonate. Side mirrors are provided as separately molded parts, while window frames are depicted using included marking stickers. Masking stickers are also included to help when giving your model its paint job. The front wheel drive M-05 chassis features a lightweight, narrow, durable, and easy-assembly semi-monocoque resin frame. Gearbox, motor, battery pack, receiver, servo and ESC are positioned for optimum weight distribution and a low center of gravity. Ground-hugging 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension and the 3-piece steering linkage provide stable high-speed cornering. Gun metal color 11-spoke wheels are matched with tread-patterned radial tires and feature tire inserts. Three wheelbase lengths (210mm, 225mm, 239mm) are possible by simply switching the position of the rear suspension parts, enabling a wide range of body choices available from Tamiya.

The car's closed-body form showcases its sleek lines and sporty character, with raised front fenders and a tapered rear end that enhance its aerodynamic efficiency and visual appeal.

Balanced Performance

The car's weight distribution is carefully balanced for optimal performance. The RC mechanism is mounted at the rear, with the steering servo on the centreline and the receiver and ESC strategically placed on either side.

Responsive Steering

The innovative three-piece wiper-type steering wheel improves steering precision and responsiveness, optimising the car's handling characteristics during suspension movement.

Nimble handling and precise control is easy with the M-05 chassis. The lightweight and durable semi-monocoque frame, combined with a low centre of gravity and responsive suspension, provides exceptional agility and stability. Realistic tyres and 11-spoke wheels complete the package.

This body shell comes completely unpainted and may or may not require body post holes to be drilled. Only use a polycarbonate style paint such as the Tamiya PS series to finish these bodies, as standard paints will not adhere and/or cause damage to the body shell's surface.
