I purchased this car for my 9 years old to learn on. Though fairly heavy, it seems to be fairly robust, which is what I was looking for. It comes with everything you might need to get started. My only complaint would be that the charger is a bit flakey. Batteries only charge fully about half the time; the other half the charger turns off completely (no lights) at a random point during the charge. [The fuse is fine, and I tried two different batteries and a 12V power source.]

Great place to start an RC hobby... But after about 4 outings I wished I had just bought the VXL Bandit. I didn't know they had speed settings and could have just put the VXL in Noob mode until i was ready for a 120 kph weapon. So if it's for a kid it'll be fine. If it's for an adult that has always wanted one as a kid and can now afford to maintain this fun little hobby then save the extra and get the VXL and a spare set of wheels and tyres cos the standard ones will be bald in about 2 outings. Heaps of fun though and tough as nails.

Not a bad car but the battery runs flat way to fast and the fact that you've just paid $350 for the car finding out that you then have to pay another $60 just so you can charge it is very disappointing.
