Description
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was designed as a new generation torpedo/bomber. Following plan changes at the end of the war, the Navy adopted the Skyraider as a new attacker for its outstanding performance in strike missions. The A-1J is the final production version of the Skyraider family, powered by a new R-3350-26WB engine with structural improvements to increase wing fatigue life. Some extra antennas were added on the fuselage. 72 aircraft were built.
