The BREM-1 armored rescue vehicle was developed by the Soviet army to support the T-72 main battle tank. Its main function is to rescue damaged tanks and other armored vehicles on the battlefield where there are no fixed maintenance and overhaul facilities. Drag the damaged vehicle off the line of fire or help the crew members to repair on site.BREM-1 is based on the chassis of the T-72A main battle tank and uses a 780-horsepower V-46 engine. Remove the turret and install a new superstructure, with three crew members. Equipped with a front bulldozer and a crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 19 tons. The traction of the main winch is 25 tons, which can be increased to 100 tons after using the pulley block. The traction force of the auxiliary winch is 530 kg. The maximum towing capacity is 50 tons. The hull has a protection level equivalent to that of the T-72 main battle tank. It is equipped with a heavy machine gun with a caliber of 12.7 mm and 840 rounds of ammunition.BREM-1 production began in 1984, and a total of 342 vehicles were delivered by 1990. "BREM-1M" is an improved model of BREM-1. Using the chassis of the T-90 main battle tank, switch to a V-84MS engine with 840 horsepower or a V-92S2 engine with 1000 horsepower. Has now begun to serve in the Russian army.
