Description
HMS Cornwall was completed in 1928 at Davenport shipyard, underwent modernisation in 1935–38, and subsequently remained in service until 1941 with the local fleet. In 1941–42 she served in the Royal Navy in the East, fighting with the Japanese fleet. HMS Cornwall was finally sunk on April 5, 1942 by the Japanese First Air Flotilla in waters southwest of Ceylon, Colombo.
