The Scharnhorst was a famous German battleship of World War II. Launched in 1936, she had a distinguished and aggressive career, sinking the British aircraft carrier HMS Glorious and conducting successful raiding operations in the Atlantic. Her career came to a dramatic end in December 1943 when she was sunk by the Royal Navy's Home Fleet, led by the battleship HMS Duke of York.

This 1/700 scale kit from Trumpeter is a detailed replica of the legendary German warship. The model contains over 300 parts and features a multi-directional slide-moulded hull for an accurate shape, a photo-etched fret for fine details, a real metal anchor chain, and a display stand with an engraved nameplate.
