The USS Missouri was the last of the United States Navy's Iowa-class battleships, constructed in 1944 and entered service in the same year. In January 1945, it officially became the flagship of the 3rd Fleet within the U.S. Pacific Fleet. The USS Missouri played a significant role in several battles, including engagements at Iwo Jima, the Battle of Okinawa, and sustained operations in Japan from February to July 1945. Notably, the USS Missouri bore witness to a pivotal moment in history—the conclusion of World War II. On September 2, 1945, at 9:02 AM, the representative of Japan signed the unconditional surrender aboard the USS Missouri, which was anchored in Tokyo Bay, marking the end of World War II. Afterwards, the battleship was placed in reserve in 1955 and saw periodic reactivation until its full retirement in 1992. Now, Trumpeter have carefully reconstructed this into a 1/700 scale model for you to construct and display.
