Da Vinci's Self-Propelling Cart. Da Vinci's self-propelled cart is the first vehicle and possibly a robot designed to carry actors across a stage during theatrical productions.
Leonardo da Vinci, born April 15, 1452, was an Italian painter, draftsman, sculptor, architect & engineer who epitomised the cultural exploration and innovativeness of the Renaissance period. While most known for his paintings such as The Last Supper (1495–98) & Mona Lisa (1503–19), he was also an inventor and mechanical engineer with inventions utilising modern science and technology centuries ahead of their time.
