Bronco Models 1/35 British Cruiser Tank A34 Comet Special Edition Scale Plastic Model Kit
Comet A34 was a British pursuit tank from the Second World War. The first prototypes were created at the beginning of 1944, and serial production lasted from 1944-1945. In total, about 1,200 units of this tank were created. Comet was powered by a 600 HP Roller-Royce Meteor Mk III engine. The vehicle was armed with a single HV gun 77 mm and two Besa machine guns 7.92 mm.
The Comet tank was created as a development and a combination of structures of other British high-speed Cavalier and Centaur tanks, especially the Challenger Mk VIII. Unlike them, he had - from the very beginning of serial production - as the main gun 77mm calibre, but also a completely new tower and improved suspension. The first tanks of this type were delivered to the front in December 1944 and took part in the fight in Western Europe until May 1945. They remained at the service of the British army until 1958, taking, inter alia, participation in the Korean War (1950-1953). After 1945, Comet tanks were exported to several countries, such as Finland, Ireland or South Africa.
