The Churchill Crocodile was the only flamethrower tank mass-produced by Britain during World War II. Based on the heavily armoured Churchill Mk.VII infantry tank, it replaced the hull machine gun with a flamethrower nozzle and towed an armoured trailer carrying fuel and propellant. It was an extremely effective weapon for supporting infantry and clearing fortifications, used by both the British and U.S. armies.
This 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica that can be built as either the Churchill Crocodile or the standard Churchill Mk.VII gun tank. The model realistically captures the imposing figure of the vehicle, and the joint connecting the tank and its trailer can be moved up, down, left, and right after assembly. The trailer features posable inspection hatches and some internal detail. The set is completed with two figures, a soldier and a tank crewman, depicted having a meeting.
