Description
At the outset of World War II, the U.S. Army relied on lightly armed scout cars for reconnaissance. The M-8 Greyhound armoured car, developed during the war, offered increased protection and a 37 mm cannon, providing greater flexibility and firepower for supporting ground troops.
Baptised by fire in Italy — from Monte Cassino to Anzio — the M-8 then played a crucial role in the D-Day landings. Though Normandy's terrain proved challenging, the Greyhound's speed and versatility made it invaluable. It served not only the U.S. Army but also numerous Allied nations.
