Italeri 1/48 F-15E Strike Eagle Plastic Model Kit
Italeri 1/48 F-15E Strike Eagle Plastic Model Kit
The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle design was initiated in the 1970s to equip United States Air Force fighter squadrons with an advanced, high-performance jet fighter. The effective and robust aerodynamic layout led to the two-seat 'all-weather' F-15E Strike Eagle fighter-bomber, which entered service with the USAF in the late 1980s replacing the outdated F-111. Operational roles included ground attack, bombing, and interdiction missions. The F-15E retained the flight design characteristics of the original F-15 — twin tail fins, sturdy mid-wing, and a tandem two-seat cabin, with the rear seat occupied by the Weapon Systems Officer responsible for route management, target tracking, and electronic countermeasures. The type was deployed to Desert Shield and Desert Storm campaigns in the early 1990s.
