The M4 Sherman medium tank served as the backbone of U.S. armoured forces during World War II. Mass-produced in numerous variants, it proved to be a reliable and adaptable workhorse. The M4A3E8 "Easy Eight" version, introduced in late 1944, featured significant upgrades that boosted the Sherman's combat effectiveness.
