Italeri 1/56 Sd. Kfz. 222-223 Plastic Model Kit
The light armoured reconnaissance vehicles — 'Leichte Panzerspähwagen' Sd.Kfz. 222 and 223 — were widely used by the German army during World War II on all operational fronts. The motorisation of troops and rapid reconnaissance were central to the German Blitzkrieg doctrine, and these four-wheel-drive light armoured cars were designed precisely for that role.
Employed by the reconnaissance battalions of armoured divisions, they offered good road and off-road performance. The Sd.Kfz. 222 was armed with a 20mm L/55 cannon alongside the traditional MG13, while the Sd.Kfz. 223 was also equipped with improved radio and communications equipment for more effective battlefield coordination.
