The Panther was one of the most formidable and influential German tanks of World War II. The Ausf.D was the debut variant, rushed into service for the pivotal Battle of Kursk in July 1943. Its combination of a powerful long-barrelled 7.5cm gun, thick sloped armour, and excellent mobility made it a fearsome opponent for any Allied tank it encountered on the battlefield.
This 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a highly accurate recreation of the Panther Ausf.D, based on intensive examination of the final surviving example of this variant. The model features stunningly realistic surface textures, from the cast metal gun mantlet to the rolled steel armour plates. The kit includes easy-to-use belt-type tracks, two crew figures, and three different marking options for tanks that fought in the Battle of Kursk.
