Tamiya PS spray paints are a synthetic lacquer that cures in a short period of time. The spray paint is extremely useful for painting RC car and truck body shells. Each can contains 100ml of paint, which is enough to cover most body shells. However, if you are painting an extra large shell, such as a HPI Baja 5SC body shell, at least 2 cans are recommended. Tamiya PS paints are also impervious to oil and fuels, making them safe to use on gas-powered RC body shells.

Tamiya PS paints are designed for polycarbonate body shells and are not suitable for modelling (hard plastics). For scale models, Tamiya TS paints are recommended.

Tamiya Translucent Colours are designed to achieve a translucent frosted glass look on polycarbonate bodies. Use translucent Red, Blue, Light Blue, Pink, Yellow, Orange, Green and Purple in combination with PS-41 Bright Silver to achieve a deep mica colour effect. Use PS-36 Translucent Silver in combination with normal colours for a shiny metallic colour finish.
