Trumpeter 1/350 HMS Colombo C-class Light Cruiser Scaled Plastic Model Kit
HMS Colombo was launched on December 18th 1918 at Fairfield Shipbuilding. From June 1919 to 1926 she joined the Eastern Fleet in the Far East, then was reassigned to the United States and West Indies waters from 1932 to 1935 before returning to the Eastern Fleet. She then joined the Royal Navy Home Fleet and was involved in the pursuit of the German battlecruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau. She returned to England for refurbishment and between August 1940 and June 1942 returned to the Eastern Fleet. Between June 1942 and March 1943, Colombo and her sister ship were converted into an air-defence cruiser and continued to participate in the war. HMS Colombo survived the war, and on January 22nd 1948 was put up for sale at the Cashmore Newport shipyard for dismantling on May 13th 1948.
