In the final days of the Second World War, the once-mighty Japanese Combined Fleet was effectively finished as an organised fighting force. The remaining capital ships, many damaged or incomplete, lay moored in naval ports like Kure and Sasebo. These ports were home to the remnants of the fleet, including famous vessels like Amagi, Ise, and Haruna, many of which were eventually sunk in Allied air raids.

This 1/3000 scale kit from Fujimi's "Collectable Warships" series focuses on this poignant moment in naval history. The set includes four newly moulded ships representing key vessels present in port at the end of the war: the aircraft carriers Unryu, Hiyo, and Ryuho, and the heavy cruiser Aoba in its 1945 fit-out. It also includes a scenery piece to recreate the moored destroyer Suzutsuki, offering a complete diorama scene.
