USS Midway (CV-41) was the lead ship of her class and the first U.S. warship named after the pivotal Battle of Midway. Commissioned just after the end of WWII in September 1945, she began an incredibly long and distinguished career that spanned nearly five decades, participating in conflicts from Vietnam to the Gulf War before becoming a museum ship in San Diego.
This massive 1/350 scale kit from Trumpeter is a detailed replica of the USS Midway as she appeared upon commissioning in 1945. With over 1290 parts, it is a complex and rewarding project featuring a large one-piece hull, detailed flight and hangar decks, and an incredible eight photo-etched frets for the ultimate level of fine detail. The kit also includes a late-WWII era air wing featuring F4U Corsairs and SB2C Helldivers.
