FAQs for TLR
TLR kits are aimed at serious competition racers, so they are a step up from ready-to-run buggies in both build complexity and tuning potential. If you have been racing an RTR for a season or two and want more adjustability, the move to a TLR kit is rewarding but demands careful assembly and setup. Beginners are usually better served by a simpler RTR platform first, then graduating to a TLR kit once they understand chassis tuning, diff building and shock rebuilding.
Team Losi Racing kits are developed alongside factory drivers at the highest levels of off-road competition, so every geometry change, shock update and drivetrain revision is proven on the track before release. Features like tuneable front and rear suspension geometry, precise diff builds and laydown transmissions give racers the adjustability needed to dial in any surface. If you want a platform that can actually keep up with national-level competition, TLR is one of the benchmark brands.
Yes. Our Australian warehouse keeps around 198 TLR items in stock, including shock oils, turnbuckles, carbon fibre option parts, wheels and hardware for current 22-series buggies and trucks. Racing weekends burn through spares quickly, so having local stock of TLR consumables saves racers the stress of overseas backorders mid-season. If you run a 22X-4, 22 5.0 or similar platform, it is worth stocking a small spares tub with the parts most commonly needed at a meeting.
We currently stock the TLR 22X-4 2.0 DC kit, a 1/10 four-wheel-drive buggy that has become a go-to platform for modern national-level racing. It builds into a fully tuneable competition buggy with adjustable shock positions, a revised laydown gearbox and updated suspension geometry. Pair it with the right TLR shock oils, tyres and spare turnbuckles from our spares shelf and you have a serious track weapon ready for Australian club and state-level meetings.
