About Castrol 2-Stroke Oil for RC Engines
In 2-Stroke engines the oil is lubricant that is continuously drawn into the crankcase and burned with each combustion cycle. It must prevent piston scuffing and effectively lubricate bearings, at the same time resisting deposit formation and smoke emission.
FAQs for Castrol 2-Stroke Oil for RC Engines
Is Castrol TTS right for my RC engine?
Castrol TTS is a premium 2-stroke oil designed for petrol-powered engines, including the 1/5 scale RC market where 23-32cc 2-stroke motors are common in Baja buggies, monster trucks and large-scale boats. It's aimed at hobbyists who take engine life seriously and want proven lubrication under sustained high-RPM loads. If you're running a petrol 2-stroke rig in Australia and want a blue-chip oil behind every tank of fuel, Castrol TTS is a popular and trusted choice at the pumps and at the track.
What makes Castrol TTS different from cheaper 2-stroke oils?
Castrol TTS is a fully synthetic 2-stroke oil formulated for high-performance petrol engines, with a low-smoke, low-deposit burn profile that helps keep ports, exhausts and spark plugs cleaner over time. Compared to basic mineral or semi-synthetic oils, TTS handles prolonged high-RPM running better and protects bearings and piston skirts under heat. For RC owners running expensive 1/5 scale petrol engines, that extra margin of protection is cheap insurance, which is why Castrol remains a go-to brand in Australian garages.
Do you stock Castrol TTS 2-stroke oil in Australia?
Yes, we stock Castrol TTS 2-stroke oil in our Australian warehouse, specifically for RC customers running petrol engines in 1/5 scale buggies, monster trucks and large-scale boats. Pack sizes and availability can move around as shipments arrive, so check the current Castrol listing for what's live. If you need a larger quantity for club stock or can't see the size you want, message our team and we'll confirm lead times or suggest a suitable alternative 2-stroke oil already on the shelves.
How should I mix Castrol TTS for my petrol RC engine?
Always follow your engine manufacturer's recommended petrol-to-oil ratio. Many 1/5 scale RC petrol engines call for a 25:1 or 40:1 mix when using a fully synthetic 2-stroke oil like Castrol TTS, but the exact ratio depends on your specific motor and any break-in requirements. Measure accurately with a dedicated mixing bottle and shake the fuel before each fill. If you're unsure which ratio suits your setup, check your engine manual or ask our Australian team and we'll point you in the right direction.
